Chapel Music

St Hugh’s has an enthusiastic and talented Chapel Choir, drawn from members of all three common rooms. It meets to rehearse every Friday at 5.00pm (4.45pm for tea and cake, and followed by supper in College), and at 4pm on Sundays, sings a wide repertoire of music, and is always open to new members.

Four Choral Awards are available every year, one for each part. These begin in Michaelmas term and run for three terms. Auditions will be held about halfway through Michaelmas. Contact Michael Dawson (e-mail address above), or the Chaplain: for an application form.

The 2013-14 Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass Award Holders are:

Dan Chambers BA (Oxon) ARCO, is the Chapel's Music Tutor and Organist.  Dan was himself an Organ Scholar whilst studying at Worcester College, Oxford.  He helps to teach and guide our Organ Scholars and Choir, and plays or conducts at most services:
