Visiting Students at St Hugh's College
In line with the majority of colleges accepting Visiting Students, St Hugh’s considers applications from overseas students (usually outside the EU) wishing to study in Oxford for up to one academic year. You may choose any undergraduate degree that we offer (except Medicine and Fine Art) as long as it is related to your own degree course. See the following link for a list of courses offered at St Hugh’s. Note that we can also offer tuition for individual elements of a joint course such as Politics or Economics if more appropriate for the applicant.
As an undergraduate Visiting Student you would become a member of St Hugh’s College and we would arrange for your tuition. Oxford does not award a degree or any other qualification for one year of study as a Visiting Student, but colleges are willing to provide a record of achievement, for example for credit purposes at the home institution.
In terms of standards for entry, we require that Visiting Students are of the same standard academically as those admitted for undergraduate degrees at Oxford, but each application is judged on its own merits. For further information on individual courses and entry requirements, please see the University website.
English Language requirements for studying at Oxford can be found on the University’s Admissions website. Your English qualification does not need to be done prior to applying, although you will need it prior to starting your studies at Oxford.
The University tuition fees for Visiting Students are the same regardless of nationality or residence. The amount payable is dependent on subject and period of study.

Students who are visiting for less than one year pay the appropriate proportion of the relevant fee rate (e.g., one third of the yearly rate for one term). In the case of a student studying across subject areas, the appropriate fee rate is that which applies for the larger proportion of their studies.
In addition, all students must pay a college fee, which is likely to be in excess of £5,000 and is dependent on both the student’s academic programme and the domestic provisions within the college. Living costs are expected to be in the region of £6,750 for the academic year (October - June).

The closing date for applications is 29 February 2012 for consideration for entry for the academic year 2012/13.
