Pop Up Cinema in the Gardens

St Hugh’s College welcomed students, alumni, staff and neighbours for a ‘Pop Up Cinema’ evening in the gardens on Friday 13th May.

Many braved the cool evening to settle down in the College’s stunning gardens with blankets, duvets, hats and scarfs for an evening of entertainment served up on a giant outdoor HD quality screen.

This was the first time St Hugh’s has hosted such an event and the ever popular blockbuster Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark was chosen for this inaugural occasion. The College’s splendid grounds, benefiting from an early spring this year as well as the usual close attentions of the grounds staff, provided a perfect twilight backdrop for the film to be enjoyed.

The Pop Up Cinema kicked off a busy weekend of activities, with a graduation ceremony, the Parents’ Formal Hall and the 35th instalment of the annual Town & Gown 10k run also taking place.

The College has a busy schedule of events for students, alumni, friends and neighbours throughout the year. For more details of our upcoming events, please follow the link here to our Events page; or follow the link here for Alumni Events.
