Travelling Bursary won by Jacqueline Uren

The Marjorie Countess of Warwick Travelling Bursary is awarded by the University to the female candidate whose performance in French Prelims is judged to be the best. Last summer, the award was given to St Hugh’s undergraduate Jacqueline Uren; Jacqueline decided to use the opportunity to explore the artistic history of the French Riviera this August – an account of her travels can be read here.

Jacqueline Uren took Prelims in 2014. As well as this prize she gained a Distinction in both French and Spanish and was elected to a College Scholarship in recognition of this in Michaelmas Term 2014. Jacqueline is now embarking on her year abroad – the third year of her Modern Languages degree.
