First Aid

Basic emergency equipment is available from the College Lodge and from Welfare Reps.

Regular Medical Treatment

College members should register with an Oxford doctor of their own choice: registration with one of the college doctors is recommended. Overseas students from countries which do not have reciprocal arrangements for medical treatment with the United Kingdom are required to have medical insurance acceptable to the College.

The College Surgery is in the Mary Gray Allen building (first floor East).

The College Nurse, Mary Ann Dale, is available in the Surgery Monday-Friday 8.30 – 10.00 in 0th – 9th weeks. You can just drop in during these times. She can be contacted by e-mail at: nurse@st-hughs.ox.ac.uk

The College Doctors are Dr Penny Moore and Dr Matthew Cheetham. They are based at Summertown Health Centre - see their website. Dr Moore or Dr Cheetham come into the College Surgery from 8.30 to 10 a.m. on Mondays during term.  They, or one of their partners, can also be consulted at the Summertown Health Centre, 160 Banbury Road (telephone at any time Oxford 515552).

NHS Direct can be contacted for advice on 0845 46 47. The Harrison Clinic at the The Churchill Hospital, Old Road, Headington, Oxford OX3 7LJ (Tel: 01865 231231) can be contacted about sexually transmitted diseases.

Special medical needs should be made known as soon as possible to Charles White, Accommodation and Facilities Manager.
