Colin Matthew Fund for travel awards for historical research now open

The Colin Matthew Fund has opened for applications for consideration in 2018.

Professor [Henry] Colin Gray Matthew was a Fellow and Tutor at St Hugh’s from 1974-1999. His focus was on British history throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Applications are invited to the Colin Matthew Fund for small grants to support travel for the purposes of research.  The grants are intended to support research for a thesis on an historical topic: applicants must be an undergraduate or graduate student at the University of Oxford.

The Committee for the Fund hopes to make a number of awards up to a total value of £5,000: the maximum value of an individual award will be £500.

To apply for the Colin Matthew Fund, please complete the form here by Friday of Fourth Week of Trinity Term, 18th May 2018

Applicants are asked to ensure that their tutor or supervisor writes a letter in support of their application by the same date, and they will be informed of the outcome before the end of Trinity Term.
