Welcome from the Principal
This term will look unlike any other in our College’s long history. But much will be the same: We are still welcoming a new cohort of students to study in our beautiful grounds, in an academic community known across Oxford for its friendliness and warmth. We are still committed to ensuring that every student at St Hugh’s has the best possible experience at Oxford that they can, and to supporting you throughout your time at St Hugh’s.
On these pages you can find more information about the new procedures in place to ensure the safety of our entire community. Like everyone, we hope for things to return to normal. Until then, we must adapt and look after each-other by following the new policies we’ve put in place, based on the most current official advice.
This will mean a very different start to the year. But we are still absolutely delighted to welcome our new students to the College, and to have back our current students after a very long absence. St Hugh’s has felt very strange without its students, and though things will look and feel unusual, perhaps for some time to come, we are very pleased indeed that College life is starting to resume, however gradually. I am confident that your experiences this year, while different from the norm, will be as memorable and precious for you as any other year and that laughter and fun will remain, while we will do everything in our power to support you.
