Founded in 1977, The Garden Museum in Lambeth has recently reopened after a major redevelopment project, which lasted 18 months.
For those of you who love gardens and gardening, described by the Guardian as “hallowed ground for the green-fingered”, our visit to the museum will feature tours of the British Grounds by Christopher Bradley-Hole and Dan Pearson.
St Hugh’s College has in addition secured an exclusive talk for our alumni and guests by the Museum Director, Christopher Woodward, a man who is proud that the museum is a haven not just about gardens but also people and gardens; a place that “even the most brown-thumbed can’t fail to be enticed by”.
After an introduction and guide to the collections, we will rendezvous in the new Garden Café for refreshments. The tour is scheduled for St Hugh’s alumni and friends on Wednesday 4 October to start at 6.30pm finishing at 8:30pm.
