St Hugh’s alumni and their guests are warmly invited to join us at the People’s History Museum in Manchester for a drinks reception and private tour of ‘Represent! Voices 100 Years On’ when the Museum is closed to the public, followed by an informal dinner at a restaurant nearby.
‘Represent! Voices 100 Years On’: People’s History Museum, 17.30
Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy a private viewing of this fascinating exhibition, which reflects on 100 years since the passing of the Representation of the People Act in 1918.
Featuring a host of exhibits from the early 20th century, including a rare suffragette banner created at the height of the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU), alongside more modern exhibits such as placards from the 2017 Women’s Marches, the exhibition focuses on those who campaigned for better representation and asks how far we have really come in 100 years.
Tickets for this event are £15, to include the drinks reception and entry to the exhibition. Guests are most welcome. To book, please complete the booking form below.
