St Hugh’s College is looking for permanent Housekeepers to join its current Housekeeping team. The successful candidates must have good communication skills and take pride in their work to ensure the highest levels of housekeeping services to all College accommodation. Hours will include some evenings and weekends, which will be agreed in advance depending on the needs of the College. We are seeking staff to join its vibrant, motivated and passionate housekeeping team which delivers excellent customer service to our students, academics and also commercial guests and VIP’s.
This is a role with varied duties, which will include cleaning of students and staff accommodation. You will be expected to maintain high standard of cleaning throughout all areas of the College. You will also be asked to assist with spring-cleaning accommodation at the end of each term in preparation of conferences, B&B quests and any VIP events.
You must be flexible, customer focused, approachable, professional and passionate about high standards of cleanliness, with experience within a similar customer-facing role, ideally experience as cleaner/housekeeper would be an advantage.

We are looking for Casual Catering and Bar Staff to join the current team to help in Hall, Bar and with Catering events. The duties will involve clearing and setting tables, serving meals and dealing with payments. You may also be asked to assist with College functions, greeting guests, serving drinks and canapés, and taking responsibility for ensuring that guests enjoy their experience.

Applications are invited for the post of Career Development Fellowship in Artificial Intelligence at St Hugh’s College. The focus of the Career Development Fellow’s research may complement the research area of an existing Fellow or may bring new aspects of the field to the College. The successful candidate should be able to engage with colleagues and advise students in the broader field and act as a focal point in college for research and teaching in Artificial Intelligence, broadly conceived. This broad conception encompasses theoretical and/or application-driven approaches in areas that include (but are not limited to) Computer Science, Machine Learning, Physics, Philosophy, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Economics and Finance, Linguistics and Natural Language Processing, Bioinformatics, Digital Health, and may focus on safety-critical applications, autonomous systems, geophysical remote sensing, hazard avoidance or any of a large range of research activities.
Applicants must hold or be close to completing a PhD or DPhil. They must also demonstrate:
- Evidence of the ability to produce work of international standing within the field of artificial intelligence / machine learning.
- Published research of international standing within the field for the post.

The post plays an important role in the College’s ongoing commitment to increasing and improving student support. The LDST will provide generic learning and study skills, to include academic writing (essays, gobbets, and other forms), reading techniques, note-taking (in lectures and from reading), good academic practice (including the avoidance of plagiarism), planning and prioritizing, referencing, use of libraries, best exploitation of online resources, use of recorded lectures, approaches to scientific problem-sets, deadline management, revision guidance, examination preparation, online submission of coursework, remote learning, etc.
