As Bursar, Gareth has overall responsibility for the College’s non-academic and support activities, working with the Bursary, Finance, Catering, Accommodation, Housekeeping, Conference, ICT, Estates, Gardens, Maintenance, Lodge, and HR Teams.
Gareth joined us in 2021, having previously spent three years as Bursar at Worcester College. He spent much of his career in research publishing, most recently as Vice President, Strategy & Operations for the New York based publisher Wiley, and was Finance Director of an environmental charity working for the UK and Welsh governments. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Gareth read English at Brasenose College. Outside work, he is a published poet and a trustee of the Poetry Society. He is also professionally qualified in the wine trade.
