St Hugh’s was built on a foundation of equality and inclusivity, opening its doors in 1886 to women who could not otherwise access an Oxford education. More than a century later, we find ourselves a diverse community of researchers, staff, and over 1000 students.
The Dean, Dr Damian Jenkins, is charged by Governing Body with fostering a College community based on mutual respect and fairness. The Dean also oversees those aspects of student discipline that affect the community.
