Gill Aitken CB

After reading Philosophy and Theology at St Hugh’s, Gill developed her interest in the history of ideas, ethics and making organisations work better through her career in voluntary organisations, law and, for the last 25 years, in Whitehall at the heart of Government. There she led legal and corporate teams and served on the Boards of several Ministries, most recently as General Counsel at HMRC. She was delighted to come back to Oxford as the University’s Registrar, and to rejoin St Hugh’s.
