Congratulations to Lindsay Croisdale-Appleby who was named in the New Year’s Honours list

We are delighted to offer our congratulations to St Hugh’s alumnus Lindsay Croisdale-Appleby (Modern History, 1992), who was appointed Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG) for services to British foreign policy in the New Year’s Honours 2020.

Lindsay was appointed Director-General EU Exit in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in July 2017. Further information on Lindsay’s fascinating career is available below.

Lindsay was appointed Director-General EU Exit in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in July 2017.

Lindsay joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1996.   He has served as Director Europe (2015-7), British Ambassador to Colombia (2012-15), Principal Private Secretary to the Foreign Secretary (2010 to 2012) as well as postings overseas in Brussels, Venezuela and New York.

He studied Modern History at St Hugh’s College, Oxford, and gained an MA in International Relations and International Law from Lancaster University.
