News of the passing of St Hugh’s Staff Member and Friend, Tracey Kerry

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our Senior Housekeeper, Tracey Kerry, who passed away on the evening of Thursday 29 October following a short illness.

Tracey had been part of St Hugh’s community for many years, and was a hugely valued member of the Housekeeping team. Over the years, she became a familiar and much-loved presence across the College, earning the respect and affection of students, staff and academics alike through her warmth, professionalism and unwavering commitment to supporting the St Hugh’s community.

St Hugh’s Principal, Michele Acton, said: ‘Tracey was an exceptional colleague who was known, respected and deeply liked by students, staff and academics across the College. Her friendliness, helpfulness and loyalty were a credit to St Hugh’s. She really enjoyed working at St Hugh’s and approached her work with care and dedication, and her compassion for colleagues was unwavering. Tracey’s death is a profound loss to our community, and she will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with her husband and all her family and friends at this difficult time.’

A book of condolence will be available at the Lodge for members of the College community who wish to leave a message in memory of Tracey.

This page will be updated with details of funeral arrangements in due course.
