St Hugh’s achieves a Gold Standard in its recent Health and Safety Audit

Following an annual Health and Safety Audit undertaken by health and safety consultants, Stallard Kane, the College has been award a Gold Standard for compliance scores over 95%, which is a very rare achievement.

The objective of the audit was to review the company’s entire Health & Safety Management System and to identify hazards and risks to the organisation including its students, staff and visitors.  The audit covered the whole College with inputs from several departments, including Housekeeping, Finance, Estates and the Gardens team, who were required to submit detailed documentation and risk assessments.

The Senior Tutor and the Bursar congratulated the Building Maintenance Manager, Paul Blake who said, ‘This Gold Standard award is a testament to the whole College’s positive attitude to Health and Safety matters, and congratulations should be cascaded to all College members.’
