St Hugh’s College holds daily staff events for Mental Health Awareness Week

As one of the best collegiate employers in the University of Oxford, the welfare of St Hugh’s College’s staff is its priority, and during Mental Health Awareness Week the College took the opportunity to hold special daily events for staff to highlight the importance of mental. The theme for this year was ‘Action’ – while awareness is vital, real change comes when we take action too.

St Hugh’s HR Advisor, Samantha Adams, organised a variety events to highlight how our employees can take action to improve their mental health. These included Tai Chi Qigong, plant sharing and advice (an opportunity to share gardening ideas and plant cuttings), a tour around our beautiful gardens with Head Gardener, Ed Reid, finishing in the Library with a a selection of wellbeing books to view; a staff coffee morning and a ‘Breathing Space’ session in the College Chapel. Each event gave staff the opportunity to discover different ways that they can improve their mental health both at work and at home.

Below are some images from the week’s events.
