St Hugh’s crews celebrate performances at Summer Eights 2022

We were delighted to be able to welcome alumni back to College to celebrate St Hugh’s Boat Club’s (SHBC) recent successes and to cheer on the crews at Summer Eights 2022.

Reporting on the racing, SHBC President, Oli Redfern said, ‘Our crews all fought hard throughout the week and should be very proud of how they did. M2 won blades, bumping before the gut every day and making it look very easy. W2 did well in a very tough spot for an almost completely novice crew, getting bumped once and bumping once to break even for the week. W1 were bumped twice in the first two days but recovered well to row over comfortably twice after that. Finally, a COVID-19 hit M1 were bumped the first 3 days but recovered (literally in one case) to row over comfortably on the final day and avoid spoons.’

Below are some photographs of the St Hugh’s crews at Summer Eights 2022.
