Congratulations to everyone in the St Hugh’s College team who took part in this year’s Oxford Town & Gown 10K. They joined a record-breaking 7,500 people who signed up to the event – the biggest to date in its 44-year history.
Nearly 6,000 crossed the finish line, raising £350,000 for Muscular Dystrophy UK – the leading charity for more than 110,000 children and adults in the UK living with one of over 60 muscle-wasting and weakening conditions.
St Hugh’s undergraduate student, Joseph Saward (Maths and Philosophy, 2025), pictured during the race below, completed the course in 42 minutes and 27 seconds. Joe said, ‘I was really pleased to set a new personal best time, especially considering I was worried I’d injured my foot the week before. The whole event had a great atmosphere, and it was really nice seeing fellow Hughsies throughout the race. It brought a real sense of community to the event.’
