On Sunday 20 September, St Hugh’s welcomed over 60 alumni back to College for a Jubilee Lunch, celebrating the 50th, 60th and 70th-plus anniversaries of their matriculation. The occasion provided a wonderful opportunity for alumni to reconnect with friends they had not seen for many years, while also celebrating friendships that have continued long after their time at St Hugh’s.
With the late summer sunshine providing the perfect backdrop, guests enjoyed a tour of the College gardens led by Head Gardener Ed Reid, before gathering outside Main Building for commemorative photographs.
The celebrations continued with a drinks reception, followed by a three-course lunch in the Dining Hall prepared by the College’s talented chefs. During lunch, Principal, Michele Acton, reflected on the lasting contribution alumni make to the life of St Hugh’s and and the sense of community that connects St Hugh’s alumni across generations.
