Congratulations to Aviv Reich (English, 2017) for essay prize success

Warm congratulations to St Hugh’s student Aviv Reich (English, 2017) who has won the £400 British Association for Jewish Studies Prize for an outstanding undergraduate essay on a subject relating to Jewish Studies.

His meticulously researched essay, entitled Israel Zangwill: Negotiating Jewish Identities in English, focussed on the East End of London in the 1890s as an interlingual space in which English, Hebrew, and Yiddish were intricately and creatively tangled.

Well done Aviv!
