‘Artefacts of Writing’ discussion event

On Sunday 4 March more than 180 guests joined the celebrated Chinese artist Xu Bing in conversation with St Hugh’s Professor Peter D. McDonald in the Maplethorpe Lecture Room.

The event focused on Peter’s new book Artefacts of Writing: Ideas of the State and Communities of Letters from Matthew Arnold to Xu Bing (Oxford, 2017).
