Dr Amanda Smyth delivers inspiring lecture on Offshore renewable energy

On Thursday 6 May, Dr Amanda Smyth gave a fascinating insight into the state of offshore renewable energy, with a focus on wind, tidal and wave power.

Dr Smyth’s virtual lecture, ‘The road to net-zero: the role of offshore renewable energy’, highlighted the potential of these technologies to contribute to a renewable energy mix and the engineering challenges faced in scaling up to the required production levels.

Offshore renewable energy is a significant part of the UK government’s plan to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
