Dr Tom Kuhn longlisted for 2015 PEN Award for Poetry in Translation

Brecht Love PoemsDr Tom Kuhn, Tutorial Fellow in German and David Constantine (Fellow of The Queen’s College, Oxford) have been longlisted for the 2015 PEN Award for Poetry in Translation, for their translation of Brecht’s Love Poems.

Dr Kuhn is the Principal Investigator on the international research and translation project, Writing Brecht which is devoted to extending and developing the corpus of Brecht’s works in English. It incorporates a major AHRC-funded project, ‘Brecht into English’, which proposes a parallel critical appraisal of the transmission of Brecht’s writings and ideas and a historical assessment of the reception of Brecht in the English-speaking world. The award shortlist will be announced on 15 April 2015 and the winner on 13 May 2015.
