The Secret World of Women in Intelligence: Station X and MI6
We are excited to host a lunch and lecture exploring the hidden histories of women who worked in British intelligence during the Second World War, focusing on the lived experiences of St Hugh’s alumnae whose work took them into some of the most secretive environments of the war.
Dr Claire Hubbard-Hall, the author of the acclaimed “Her Secret Service: The Forgotten Women of British Intelligence” will talk on women in MI6 including at Bletchley Park (Station X). Veronica Lowe (Modern History, 1969) will provide an update on the 36 St Hugh’s alumnae known to have worked at Station X.”
Dr Claire Hubbard Hall is an Honorary Associate Professor of Intelligence History at Bishop Grosseteste University. At the end of the event, she will be available for the signing of her debut book, Her Secret Service: The Forgotten Women of British Intelligence.
Arrival is at 11:45 for a 12:00 buffet lunch. The lecture will begin at 1:15.
