Advent Carol Service for alumni and members of the 1886 Society

All former students of St Hugh’s and members of the College’s legacy society, the 1886 Society, are warmly invited to an Advent Carol Service in College on Sunday 28 November 2021 at 5pm. Always a highlight of the College calendar, the service will be a traditional ‘Nine Lessons and Carols’ led by the College Chaplain, Dr Shaun Henson, and the College Choir.

Mulled wine and mince pies will be served after the service.

Booking information

Priority booking for members of the 1886 Society opens at 5pm on Thursday 11 November 2021. Further tickets will be released at 5pm on Friday 12 November 2021, at which point booking will open to all former students. To book your tickets (maximum four tickets per booking), please fill out the booking form below.

Tickets for the Advent Carol Service are free, but we ask you to consider making a donation to the College’s Chapel Restoration Fund when you book your ticket. Your support is greatly appreciated. Please note that you do not need a Paypal account to make a donation online when you book your ticket. If you would prefer to make a donation over the phone, please do book a free ticket below and telephone Hannah Manito on +44 (0)1865 613839 during office hours (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm).

Please note that capacity for this service is strictly limited, so please book early to avoid disappointment. The service always ‘sells out’ very quickly.

Readers

If you would be interested in giving one of the readings at the service, please do let the Development Office know once you have booked your ticket(s) by emailing development.office@st-hughs.ox.ac.uk.

Waiting list

If you find that the service is sold out below and would like to be added to the waiting list, please send an email including your name, course and matriculation year (if applicable), and the number of tickets you would like (maximum four tickets per booking) to development.office@st-hughs.ox.ac.uk.

Cancellation policy

While we hope very much that the service will be able to go ahead as planned, these are clearly uncertain times, and there is always the risk that we might be forced to cancel due to the pandemic. We will aim to give as much notice as possible of any cancellation and will contact all those who have registered by email.

If you have reserved tickets and are no longer able to attend, please let us know at your earliest opportunity by emailing development.office@st-hughs.ox.ac.uk so that we can offer your tickets to those on our waiting list.
