Henry and Joanna Chan of Hong Kong admitted to Chancellor’s Court of Benefactors

Today, in the Convocation House of Oxford University, St Hugh’s Wordsworth Fellow Henry Chan and his wife Joanna Chan were admitted to the Chancellor’s Court of Benefactors.

Principal of St Hugh’s, Dame Elish Angiolini DBE QC, commented, “Henry and Joanna Chan have been outstanding supporters of St Hugh’s. We are delighted that their tremendous support has been recognised today.”

Mr and Mrs Chan are benefactors to the Dickson Poon China Centre at St Hugh’s College; the Bodleian K B Chen China Centre Library at St Hugh’s was named in honour of Mr Chan’s late father.

Mr Chan is Chairman of the Chanco Investment Group, a Hong Kong property investor. Chanco owns and operates The Butterfly Hotel and Serviced Apartment Group Limited, one of the fastest growing boutique hotel chains in Hong Kong, now extending overseas.

St Hugh’s offers its warmest congratulations to Mr and Mrs Chan.
