September 2019 alumni weekend
Last weekend we were delighted to be able to welcome back alumni for two very special reunion events in College. A selection of photos taken by David Fisher at the events are displayed below.
If you would like to organise a reunion for your year group, please do get in touch with the Development Office on development.office@st-hughs.ox.ac.uk or +44 (0)1865 613839. We are always grateful for suggestions and offers of support.
Saturday 21 September 2019
On Saturday evening alumni who matriculated between 1992 and 1995 joined us for a trip down memory lane at our black-tie reunion dinner. The evening’s celebrations opened with a drinks reception on the terrace at which we enjoyed the last of the fabulous warm weather, followed by a sumptuous four-course meal in the Dining Hall hosted by the Principal. After dinner guests enjoyed the opportunity to relax over drinks together. We were delighted that nearly 80 alumni were able to join us for this event, the first in our new series of focused year-group reunions. Future year group reunions include:
23 November 2019 – Reunion Dinner for alumni who matriculated between 2002 and 2005. For further details and to book your ticket visit here.
Sunday 22 September 2019
Over 50 alumnae who matriculated in 1949 or earlier, 1959 and 1969 joined us on Sunday afternoon for the annual Jubilee Lunch hosted by the Principal to celebrate the 50th, 60th and 70th anniversaries of their matriculation. We were delighted that the turn out this year was so good we had to move to a bigger venue to accommodate everyone. Guests enjoyed a drinks reception and formal photographs in the Senior Common Room before moving through to the Dining Hall for the Jubilee Lunch. It was wonderful to hear so many memories of St Hugh’s shared by guests over lunch, and to hear where life had taken our alumnae since their time at Oxford.
Next year’s Jubilee Lunch for alumni who matriculated in 1950 or earlier, 1960 and 1970 will take place on 13 September 2020 (note new date). Invitations will be circulated in the new year but please do mark the date in your diaries.
