St Hugh’s College Garden Party

We were delighted to welcome alumni, academics, staff, students and friends of the College to our annual Garden Party on Saturday 23 June. Guests enjoyed a fabulous afternoon in the College’s beautiful grounds, with afternoon tea and Pimm’s available throughout, and entertainment for all ages including a jazz band, circus skills workshops, face painting, a bouncy castle, close-up magic and tours with the College’s Gardens team.

This year’s event also saw the return of the ever-popular St Hugh’s Dog Show, with prizes including ‘Waggiest Tail’, ‘Biggest Smile’, ‘Best Dressed’ and, of course, the sought-after ‘Best in Show’, which was won this year by Luna and her owner, Dr Annie Hongping Nie. Guests also had the opportunity to vote in our inaugural ‘Picture Purrfect’ Cat Photo Competition for the cat who was ‘Most Disdainful’, ‘Most Helpful’ and ‘Best in Show’. Amy Jones (Philosophy, Politics and Economics, 2004) won the prize for ‘Best in Show’ with a photo of her cat, Gem.

We are pleased to share a small selection of our favourite photos from the event below. Photographer: David Fisher.
