St Hugh’s Graduate selected to play in Varsity Rugby Match

Congratulations to our Graduate Student, Emily Blake (PGCE Mathematics, 2021) who has been selected to play for the Oxford 2022 Women’s Rugby Varsity squad. This is particularly special as the annual Varsity Rugby Match is celebrating its 150th anniversary and it is the 8th year for the women’s team to be represented at the event. The match will be played on Saturday 2 April at Twickenham Stadium – “The Official Home of England Rugby”.

The first Varsity Match was played in 1872 and is one of the world’s longest running sporting fixtures. It represents the pinnacle of amateur and student rugby where the universities of Oxford and Cambridge compete for the title of Varsity holders.

If you would like to support Emily and the team, tickets for the match start at £15 for students which includes both the women’s and men’s matches and are available to book here.
