St Hugh’s student community come together for welfare week

St Hugh’s JCR committee hosted a culture day for students to celebrate and encourage everyone to engage with the diversity of the College community. With the help of the Entz Reps, BAME Rep, Zarah Yesufu and International Rep, Vera Prokopieva organised drinks and dinner in The Principal’s garden with food from Nigeria, Thailand and Turkey. Flags were handed out to those who wanted to wear them along with or instead of cultural dress, and the students made a collaborative playlist for people to add songs from their own cultures which was played during the event.  After the dinner, the students met up with other North Oxford colleges in Port Meadow and continued to celebrate their cultural diversity.

JCR are grateful to The Principal for opening up her garden for the celebration.

Below is a selection of photos from the event.
