St Hugh’s thanks everyone who pledged a donation during its 2022 Telethon campaign

We are delighted to announce that St Hugh’s 2022 Telethon campaign has been a huge success with pledges totally over £195,000 from our generous alumni. During our 15th telethon, 13 student callers, from both our graduate and undergraduate cohort, had almost 500 conversations with alumni, 51% of which resulted in a gift to the College.

Our total figure may increase over the next few weeks as we have further discussions with alumni who chose not to make a gift over the phone, but wish to be part of the campaign by sending in cheques or setting up standing orders.

One of our callers, Libby Peet (Law, 2020) said, ‘Being a telethon caller this year was a lovely way to connect with our alumni and discover so much more about St Hugh’s College, like what has changed and what has stayed the same. I had some really insightful career conversations, and loved the freedom I had to ask people in a variety of different sectors about their experiences, and whether they had any advice. I learnt a lot of things that will help me in both my personal and professional life. I look forward to being called 20 years down the line and hearing from future students about all things St Hughs.’

Director of Development, Bruce Lawrence said, ‘We are immensely grateful to our fantastic alumni community who have donated so generously during our 2022 Telethon campaign, despite the challenging times we all face. Thank you also to our talented student callers whose hard work and professionalism are a credit to the College.’
