Virtual Diwali 2020 Celebrations

Screens across St Hugh’s lit up with “Happy Diwali” messages delivered virtually by College Principal, The Rt Hon. Dame Elish Angiolini DBE QC FRSE, Professor Rosinka Chaudhuri, and St Hugh’s students, Krishna Bhat and Akanksha Ahuja.

The messages were screened during a special takeaway dinner for students which included a selection of delicious curries, the recipe for one of which was shared on the video. To watch the video please click here.

During her welcome, Dame Elish spoke of how the Diwali celebration is enjoyed annually by the entire College community; and ended by saying, “A celebration of light over darkness is something I’m sure that we can all take great joy in, this year of all years.”

Thank you to Krishna Baht, Professor Rosinka Chaudhuri and Akanksha Ahjou (pictured below, left to right) for contributing to our Diwali celebration video.
