Final-year student of French at St Hugh’s ranked second in a UK-Ireland creative writing contest

Congratulations to Maddy Bellucci, a final-year student of French at St Hugh’s, who has been ranked second in a UK-Ireland creative writing contest at the most advanced level (French C1-C2).

The theme of this year’s creative writing contest in French, organised by Durham University’s School of Modern Languages and Centre for Foreign Language, was “L’Autre” (“The Other”). The contest was open to specialist and non-specialist learners of French who are studying in a UK or Irish university at the elementary (A2), intermediate (B1-B2) and advanced levels of the CEFR. Submissions were invited in a variety of genres (prose, drama, poetry, song, etc.).
