Applications now open for St Hugh’s College Teachers’ Residential 2023

Applications are now open for the St Hugh’s Teachers’ Residential 2023. A limited number of places is available on our fully-funded summer school for teachers from the state sector. The residential, which will take place between 21 and 24 August, includes teacher information sessions aimed at demystifying the Oxbridge application process, offering useful practical tips such as reference-writing, admissions test and interview preparation; and introducing the outreach opportunities for students and teachers available through the College, the University, and our educational partners. Take a look at last year’s timetable for more details by clicking here.

You will have full access to St Hugh’s Howard Piper Library, which is one of the largest college libraries in Oxford, as well as the opportunity to meet and speak with the College’s subject academics, and free time to spend exploring the city.

Tours of the University science site and Oxford’s historic libraries, visits to our rich museum collections, and a social schedule including concerts and punting, make the residential an enjoyable and memorable experience.

We were pleased that last year’s attendees found the summer school useful and enjoyable; here are a couple of teacher testimonials:

‘I just wanted to pass on how much I enjoyed the four days. […] It far surpassed my expectations. I feel much more prepared heading to my new school armed with all this information about the University and the admissions process.’

‘The Teachers’ Summer School has been such a powerful reset for me – I feel rejuvenated, inspired and encouraged from all the experiences you so wonderfully set up. From the clarity and openness of information to the generosity of staff, […] it’s been brilliant from start to end.’

‘It takes less than ten minutes to apply via this form: https://forms.office.com/e/NdGLyXpqBE. In the first instance, priority is given to teachers in our link region – Kent; but please apply even if you are based in another area; we will do our best to accommodate you!
