College Carpenter

£29,698.50- £32,740.50 per annum

37.5 hours per week

St Hugh’s College is seeking a Carpenter to join the College’s friendly Maintenance team on a permanent basis. The jobholder will carry out routine carpentry maintenance and improvements to all College property, under the direction of the Buildings Maintenance Manager.

Duties will include various repairs and renewals including repairs to sash windows, fire doors, occasional furniture and glazing, ordering materials and purchasing of replacement carpentry stock.

There will also be a requirement to undertake non-carpentry tasks and assist other members of the team when necessary. The role will involve working at height from time to time, so use of ladders and tower scaffolding would be required following the relevant training.

Applicants should be able to present a positive and helpful attitude, possess excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.

A recognised trade qualification eg City & Guilds Carpentry & Joinery, NVQ Level 4 or equivalent is essential.
