Two St Hugh’s Fellows elected Fellows of the British Academy
Congratulations to two esteemed St Hugh’s Fellows: Professor Adrian Moore, Tutorial Fellow in Philosophy and Professor Asifa Majid, Tutorial Fellow in Experimental Psychology; who have been elected Fellows of the British Academy. They were two of just 86 leading scholars from the humanities and social sciences worldwide to be elected.
Professor Moore said, ‘I am of course both honoured and flattered to have been elected as a Fellow of the British Academy. I am very grateful to the Academy, but also to St Hugh’s for the many ways in which the College has supported me throughout my academic career. I hope that I will be able to contribute to the work of the Academy in a way that will serve as an expression of my gratitude.’
Professor Majid said, ‘I’m delighted and honoured to be elected as a Fellow of the British Academy. In addition to it being an honour, it’s also a chance to express my gratitude to everyone at St Hugh’s who has warmly welcomed me since I joined the college in 2022. This is a truly special place with wonderful colleagues representing an outstanding breadth of disciplinary expertise, great support from professional staff, and students who inspire exceptional teaching and learning.’
