St Hugh’s students to represent Oxford at Varsity Matches

Congratulations to all St Hugh’s students who will be representing Oxford in both the women’s and men’s rugby teams at the Varsity Matches which take place on Saturday 28 February at the StoneX Stadium in North London. Among these is undergraduate, Milly Gladstone (Human Sciences, 2025) who only started play rugby at her school last year when they decided to form the first ever girl’s rugby team for the Rossyln Park National Schools Sevens tournament.

Milly said, ‘It was such a fun experience and I loved it so much that I knew I wanted to play at Oxford as well. I joined OURFC in Michaelmas term and played my first 15s game for the Panthers (seconds) in the first week of Hilary term. I have since been playing for the Blues and play centre (number 12) which the position I will play in at the Varsity Matches this weekend. The rugby training has been intense with a lot of set plays and a real drive to win in the club. It has been a huge learning experience for me, which is part of what has made it so special. The club has been hugely supportive and I am so nervous to play but know that with the support of my teammates we are going to have a blast. It is such an honour to have the opportunity to receive an Oxford Blue and I am looking forward to giving it my all at StoneX.

Please come along and show your support for our Hughsies on Saturday. Please click on the image below for ticket information:
